Retimana te Mania (deceased).

Resided in the Manukau district until the commencement of the Waikato war in 1863 when he and the Akitai tribe under Mohi te Ahi a te Ngu, left their settlements at Papakura, Pukekohe &: and joined the King party. He was a quiet inoffensive man, but had very little influence with his tribe. After the war he lived for some years at Pukaki near Mangere.

Wahanui (deceased)

A man of rank of the Ngatimaniapoto tribe. He fought against the Crown in the Waikato war, but was not distinguished for his bravery on any action he took in respect. He was more of a diplomatist than a fighting man. He was considered to be reticent and selfish, two qualities which do not commend themselves to the Maori people. Of late years he sold a good deal of land to the Government, and was in favour of settlement in the King country.
