Dear Mr. Partridge,
Seeing the notice in the newspapers of your intention to close the Lindauer Gallery on account of want of room it occurred to me that you might be willing to hang the Pictures in the City Art Gallery on loan to the Council. I think I can persuade the Art Gallery Committee to give you one large room in the new additions all to yourself for the Partridge Collection. They will be merely on loan to us, removable by you at any time you might desire.

If you think my idea a good one would you kindly give me a call and talk matters over. On the other hand if you have made other arrangements kindly drop me a line and I will rule the matter off my slate without troubling you further.

P.S. The collection of old Maoris is such a fine one that I think it a pity that it cannot be seen in our public Gallery, where on an average a thousand people come every week. We have the Reade Collection on loan to us at the present time.

Met Mayor & Mr Leys, agreed to their request to remove the collection to the Rooms allotted in art gallery & keep the pictures insured free of cost to the Council so long as they remain on loan to them
